Brewed this mid December 2010. Took first in KCBM's 2011 comp - Cat 7 again Not bragging, but we had requests for recipes and how they came out. 14.5 gallons preboil 12.5 gallons postboil 9# CMC 2-row 9# Maris Otter - forgot which maltster.... 12 oz Victory 12 oz Special Roast 12 oz C-40 12 oz C-120 2+ hour mash - 148df - no clue why I went 2 hours - Probably sneaking one in that day. I don't think it mattered - brewed this or similar a lot. 75 min boil all pellets 1 oz Magnum 12.5 AAUs FWH 3.75 oz Northern Brewer 9.8 AAUs FWH 3 oz Northern Brewer 9.8 AAUs 0 minutes - flameout - power off 2112 starter fermented at 62df 1.054 OG 44 IBUs I make this a lot. The crystal varies, I always have Special Roast in. You want toasty in it IMO. The Victory was just around that day (and I consider it Special Roast's little brother most of the time - very similar but SR has more punch). I won't brew this without Northern Brewer although others do and score well.
