Added temp detection on the output of the counter-flow chller. Made run-off spot on yesterday, into the fermentor at exactly 67 degrees, Such a cool addition.https://Posted Image

nice! I sorta wish my system was made to work well with a plate chiller, but as it is now, the thing would clog after the first batch. As odd as it sounds, I am too lazy for a plate chiller. haha.

Do you use a pump in your system? With a pump plate chillers are da bomb

That's pretty cool. Been tempted, but haven't put inline thermos in yet. I planned to but things kept coming out consistently, so ............ not yet.

Cool.....I have a thermometer and valve in line with my trusty old Chillzilla. I have used the valve to dial in a temp for one pass chilling, and I have also used the circuit without the valve, pumping full bore through the chiller and recirculating back to the brew kettle until I hit target temp.....then pump over to fermenter.I see potential advantages and disadvantages to both methods.....recirculating gets the entire batch cooled quicker, and I believe MAY preserve some of the aroma from late addition hops (but don't ask for any objective data because I don't have any). On the other hand, the single pass closed transfer dialing in the target temp with the valve eliminates any HSA (if there is any need for concern over HSA), and is more sanitary as wort in the kettle stays above 170F until it passes through the chiller into the fermenter.

I've been gravity feeding my therminator and it works fine (pump is broke).
