Here's what I went with, looking for comments.
10 Gallon batch
8 lbs Golden Promise
12 lbs Maris Otter
1 lb Special Roast
1 lbs 120 L Crystal
1/2 lb Biscut
2 oz Fuggle at 60
1 oz E. Kent Goldings at 20
Irish ale yeast in 5 gallons
Scottish Ale yeast in the other 5 gallons.

Not familiar with the original but IMO you need some roastiness in there from some roast barley.
