could get some tubing with the correct OD to just jam in the stopper hole?I have a bunch of those orange blow off tube caps. I don't like them. The don't seem to be made for any particular tubing size and they don't fit really well on better bottles.I like the stoppers and the air locks, but often my fermentation is so vigorous that they get blown off.Is there a through piece that fits in the stopper that has a nipple on it for the blow off tube? I would buy that.Cheers,Rich

you'd think they would have made better bottles to the same standard :facepalm:what is the neck opening on one? That would work for glass, but the better bottles have a bigger hole.

if you are making german wheats it's the yeast. otherwise - maybe the excess protein has something to do with it.The only time I use a blow off tube is for wheat beers. I dunno why, but they're explosive lil suckers.

Sorry, waiting on a reply that has to do with Schwanz' recent thread regarding insolubles, or something like that. My reply had nothing good to contribute and didn't advance the conversation what so ever. All in all, fairly typical of my contributions to the forum.BeachI dunno what's going on...

the airlock assembly has a restrictor on the bottom that can clog, and should be busted outMy blowoff tube assembly is the rubber bung, then the main part of the fermentation trap. Without the little cap or the lid on, you can jam your tube onto that. Don't remember what the inside diameter needed to be, but it was big enough. Seemed more reliable than jamming the tube down a drilled stopper, but frankly its the same thing.
