Well, there should be NO peat malt in Scottish ales to begin with so even that little bit is enough to take it out of style.

Well, there should be NO peat malt in Scottish ales to begin with so even that little bit is enough to take it out of style.

I like to use a tiny bit of roasted barley. a lot of people seem to think peat malt should be in scottish ales - must have something to do with them thinking scotch and scotch ale should have something in common.

Agreed...and a little roasted barley is great in a wee heavy.
