I would suggest the OP do the next brew without the moss and if he wants to clear it out later, he can use isinglass or gelatin in combination with a cold crash a few days before bottling and kegging.

In the article Denny posted, it mentions shaking up a sample to see if foam forms. Forming the foam has never been a problem, so I think there's enough of the proteins in there. I'm going to focus on fermentation. First I'll ferment cooler, I'll put the primary in a mini fridge at 60F. If that doesnt work, I'll try to pitch more yeast and see if that makes a difference.

I've heard of it being used to keep christmas trees green, but I've never heard of it being used in wort. Is it a 15 min addition?

Wait, sorrry for the thread jack, but say what? Is there a euphamism I'm missing here or are people crushing their viagra and putting it in the tree water?

I don't know how someone figured it out but supposedly it is supposed to keep the xmas tree fresh and keep the needles from falling off....probably just a 'new' wives tail

The only problem that may occur is if it lasts more than 4 hrs. If that's the case, there would be too much attention to retention and this could cause future health problems.

Mythbusters did a xmas tree episode. One of the myths they were testing was if "santa's little helper" kept the tree green and keep the needles from falling off. I think it did help a little bit, but not as much as the usual recommended water additives.ETA: link scroll about 1/3 down, or search for viagra
