I do not "clone" beers very often, prefering instead to brew to a style. But I rarely consult BJPC. Rather, I look for inspiriation for a particular style from commercial brews I enjoy. And occassionally I'll make something that sounds interesting but doen't necessarily have a style or commercial example.I have also been tiptoeing towards opening my own brewpub. Consequently, alot of my recent brewing has been to nail down recipes for beers I want to offer.

Yeah - this is my main reason. Except I don't just like beer, I LOVE it!!!I brew because I like beer.I think that about covers it.

beer is ok. Although I prefer something way dryer, astringent and flat, like wine and mead.

sorry, the sarcasm didn't come through. I know a professional brewer who admitted to believing that wine and mead superior beverages. Crazy! I don't wanna be one of those beer guys who knocks wine, but even the best wines to me are good but no I don't need another glass.I'm wondering why you brew professionally if you prefer another drink, and why you wouldn't produce that drink professionally.Just curious.BrewBasser
