Entering my house American Pale Ale in the Boston Homebrewing competition. I think it's a pretty solid brew, and gets lots of compliments, and requests for more. It should at least be a good experience, and hopefully provide some feedback on how to make it even better.

It is a big category and a style popular with new brewers so there is always several poorly made ones. Good beers frequently need to make it through a mini bos in order to place. It seems like new judges often end up judging these categories because it is a style they know and are comfortable with. This differs from some of the other categoies (mostly lagers) where you only have 1 flight but all of the beers are good to great.it'll be a tough category I think. good luck!

Cool. I think I'll enter a few in that one, too. I've haven't been paying attention to the comp schedule, but I've been wanting to enter one. Sucks that they only take dropoffs in Cambridge. Boo!
