I'd say the double mill is the cause. I've tightened mine some and have noticed even with the tightened setting some grains fall through uncrushed.

Yes I would agree I attribute it to the double mill. I did a single crush by hand and did that for like over a year. The only new thing I have done is run it through with the cordless drill a second time. You run it through fast and I think the second really crushes the grain good, there were many fewer grains left uncracked and I think that allowed for better efficiency. I haven't changed anything more on my brew technique other than the double crush.

Nope - all the rooms are fully furnished and actually a lot of the house has artwork. The dining room (yellow and red walls) happens to be one of the few rooms with nothing on the walls as a break from the rest of the house (that was Mrs. Zymological's idea).

Maybe you should move all your beer things in that room and that will be Mr Zymlogical's room and definitely have a theme as well.

Ha - not a problem. The house is my beer room. Kitchen has the kegerator, I've got a whole closet for supplies, an extra fridge in the basement, what else do I need?

I have the BC and I have hand crushed my grain bills for almost a year. I have always kept it at factory setting for the gap too. I was having an efficiency of around 75%. The last three beers I have brewed I have crushed the grain bill once by hand followed by a fast run through again with the cordless drill. Efficiency shot up to around 80=82%. If you use the drill its great you just put it in and pull the trigger. It can't get any easier than that.

I have my barley crusher set for the factory setting, only run it through once myself though. The last two i have made i have done around 79 to 80 percent. I dont even see any whole grains left . I am really proud of that barley crusher. Glad you and others convinced me to buy it.
