Apparently I had some moisture in my beer gun line last time I put it away and I developed a couple mold spots on the inside. I soak the line in BLC and it took the mass of these spots off but there is still residue left behind that hasn't cleaned up with repeated soaking. Any thoughts on cleaning this out or should I just pursue sourcing a new line?

That's a vinyl line. It might just be stained. It may not be worth risking, though...

The "BLC" above is beer line cleaner.

I had that happen to my line on the beer gun. I just decided to change the hose out. I did not want to risk it. If BLC will not take it off, it must be on there good.

Just a thought but what about heating up some water not boiling but fairly warm dumping it in a keg hit it with gas and try and flush the line see if that pulls it out. Otherwise I would just say replace the line as suggested.

Yeah, I must've been tired when I first read your post 'cause I don't remember BLC being mentioned. :) :(

Do you have a tube scrub brush? When I clean out my milking hose lines, I have to get out the brush and scrub and use dairy acid wash. That still will kill anything, but it's probably easier and cheaper to replace the line.

The longest tube brush I have is about 2' I'd guess the beer gun line is 16' or something like that...

Soak in Oxyclean perhaps? I use that stuff on everything now, all my equipment, in the shower on the tile on the glass shower door, sinks, everything. Its wicked awesome stuff.

I've got a 4 ft long hose brush. Total PITA to use.

I've heard easy clean sanitizer does wonders on beer line stains.

Did you get the stuff from the manufacturer or something from the hardware store? The line don't appear to be regular old vinyl to me its more pliable and nicer to work with.

That occurred before the BLC. I suppose my last attempt should be get a few gal of boiling water in a keg and add some oxyclean and then run it through the line to see if the heat/flowing fluid will do the trick.

Hardware store. I just got regular old 3/16" ID vinyl tubing.
