Couldn't you just use 2L soda bottles then? Just clean them out real good, sanitize, fill?Same thing isn't it?What about 2 liter PET bottles? I was at a brewery that used them, along with Pegas taps, instead of traditional growlers.

WOW, that's a great deal. I'd pay $15 for one of them empty.Success! On the advice of a guy from work, I drove 20 miles each way to Granite City Brewing tonight and bought two of these Two liters, nice and sturdy with a flip top. $15 each filled with beer. <_<If you're in the Midwest, check 'em out.

I thought it was okay, nothing worth driving 40 miles for. They don't brew on premises, they just ferment. Wort is brewed centrally somewhere and delivered to them in sterilized trucks so they only need to pitch, ferment and filter there.I brought home the bock which is very good, and the IPA which is odd enough to be interesting. It's one of the driest IPA's I've ever had, which is off-putting at first, but it grows on you. Decent Am Wheat, but again I thought it was too dry and it was crystal clear which was kind of odd. Stout was pretty good, but I'm not generally crazy about the style. They had a specialty blueberry which I didn't like much because it didn't smell very good - kind of winey. Overall, pretty decent, but not even close to Sun King. How is the beer?

Mondays & Tuesdays are the way to go. Half price mug club memberships on Mondays and $6 growler refills on Tuesdays. The mug club is worth it. %10 off food and you get a discount for their draft beers. Also once you sign your card up online you get updates for their beer release parties. Basically it is free food and a nice discount on the beer.Success! On the advice of a guy from work, I drove 20 miles each way to Granite City Brewing tonight and bought two of these Two liters, nice and sturdy with a flip top. $15 each filled with beer. <_<If you're in the Midwest, check 'em out.

These are good growlers. When my in laws lived in NW Ohio a couple of years ago I bought one at GC. I have used it since then here at home and its been great. I wish I could get another one just like it as well. GC beers were not too bad either if I remember correctly. Not outstanding but good enough to enjoy. I had the IPA and the bock. Interesting to hear how they ferment their beers, it seemed they did something different than the whole operation on site.Cheers!!Success! On the advice of a guy from work, I drove 20 miles each way to Granite City Brewing tonight and bought two of these Two liters, nice and sturdy with a flip top. $15 each filled with beer. :stabby:If you're in the Midwest, check 'em out.

Interesting business model. I wonder if it really saves them in the end?I thought it was okay, nothing worth driving 40 miles for. They don't brew on premises, they just ferment. I image it does. They get economy of scale for the difficult parts of the process and swaps high-rent space in their retail locations for low-rent industrial space. It also lets them move the messy, smelly parts out of sight of customers. Takes some of the soul away though, IMO.Interesting business model. I wonder if it really saves them in the end?
