I would have emailed Tod Mott.

Any particular reason, if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous sometimes. I was looking at the German Pilsners the other day and only 2 of the top 10 were even German! They gave Pilsner Urquell a "B" and it isn't among the top Czech pilsners, of which only one is Czech!

I should have said 'Belgium', not 'overseas', in my original quote. I love that unique beers, like Belgians, are getting publicity but it's way overboard in the beer snob community.

Well, it turns out the information posted on the website was either outdated, or wrong. The hops were on, but the malt bill was way off.He didn't give me the exact details as far as hop amount and times, but the malt bill was detailed. This is what I've come up with based on his e-mail.For 12 gallons.13# Pilsener2½# Dark Munich (20L)1# Aromatic½# Acidulated Malt8.75 AAU Czech Saaz (60 min)2.0 oz Czech Saaz (5 min)WLP830 German LagerOG: 1.047 (90% Brewhouse Efficiency)IBU: 29SRM: 6.2

Just because Tod has been so helpful to homebrewers in the past. I was also concerned that someone called "executive" brewer was going to be more of an executive than a brewer.

I wasn't really commenting on the "overseas" part. I thought you were commenting on the general unreliability of the ratings.

I should have added that it's great that he did give you the recipe, I don't mean to slam the guy, as I don't know him and he's clearly another guy willing to help homebrewers up at Portsmouth/Smuttynose. I was just trying to send you the route that I thought was most apt to get you the answer. You can't edit posts here?

Gotcha...
