Umm, YES! What ever happened to the coalition of airlock sniffers? You cats still around? Or did the group go underground?

I take airlock hits on my ales, not so much on my lagers... although I still do it.

I made a FWH'd pale ale yesterday (Hallertau Tradition and Mt. Hood) and the aroma from the airlock is unreal. I hadn't made a FWH'd beer in many years and the aroma is very unique. So I'm an airlock sniffer for sure. I will also admit to putting my nose near the relief valve when I release the pressure in a keg just to see how the aroma is. It usually smells like beer. :)

I brewed a Pale Ale last night with Amarillo and Citra hops for flavor and aroma and it smelled lovely. I went to empty the blow off tube container that I have going and there was hop particles/particulate in the bottom. Emptied the container and it smelled lovely too. Go figure but so nice!! :) :)
