I've actually dry hopped a beer with both of those at the same time. For a 5 gallon batch I used 2oz of cascade and 1oz of magnum. I dry hopped in the keg and left them in there until the keg kicked. The beer maintained a nice aroma all the way through.I have 10 gallons of this:25# 2 Row3# Crystal 60.5# Belgian Biscuit.5# Belgian Aromatic2 oz Magnum 60 min2 oz Cascade 15 min2 oz Cascade 2 minSafeale US-05Which dry hop should I use and how much?

I think it adds something but I mostly used it b/c it takes me a LLLOOONNNNG time to go through magnum. 1-2oz of it is usually plenty of bitterness (60 min addition) for a 5 gallon batch.Use cascade, anything you are going to get from the magnum is just gonna be meh

Yea I don't pick up anything from Magnum other than a little bit of grassiness, maybe a little herbal note...Love them for bittering since they are so clean...I think it adds something but I mostly used it b/c it takes me a LLLOOONNNNG time to go through magnum. 1-2oz of it is usually plenty of bitterness (60 min addition) for a 5 gallon batch.

so I guess I'd refine what I said with - if you have a lot of magnum sitting around why not throw some in. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it for dry hopping by any means though.Yea I don't pick up anything from Magnum other than a little bit of grassiness, maybe a little herbal note...Love them for bittering since they are so clean...

ha yea....I have had some GR magnums sitting in my freezer for a good while now prob a year and a hald...they are vacuumed sealed and hold up great...still sticky when they warm up.so I guess I'd refine what I said with - if you have a lot of magnum sitting around why not throw some in. Well then it's your question...do you really need to use up the Magnums or do you want that great cascade aroma.I've got way more Magnum sitting around than Cascade.I have about 12oz of Magnum and 6 oz of Cascade.

I would think 2-3 weeks might be about right.Just racked to secondary:OG=1.073FG=1.014 Dumped 2.5 oz of Cascade leaf on top.I'll let that sit over there for a few weeks. How long should it dry hop?

I am in the group that says more than a week then the aroma/flavor imparted gets a little too grassy. Some disagree though, and some will stagger dry hop additions for this reason.Just racked to secondary:OG=1.073FG=1.014 Dumped 2.5 oz of Cascade leaf on top.I'll let that sit over there for a few weeks. How long should it dry hop?

I left some pellets in a keg for months and it went through a grassy phase early on but then it smoothed out and maintained a nice amount of hoppyness.I am in the group that says more than a week then the aroma/flavor imparted gets a little too grassy.
