If you read THIS thread, you know that I made an English Summer Ale but my 1028 London Ale yeast was bad and I had to switch over to a different yeast and I went with Fermentis S-23 dry lager yeast. The beer smelled great while it was fermenting and it's finishing up right now. I already have Wyeast 2278 Czech and 2124 Bohemian fermenting some other lagers so I don't really need this yeast. But would you guys reuse it? I thought I heard that S-23 was a dry version of White Labs 830 and Fermentis has it labeled as high-floccing which is always good too. Thoughts?

W-34/70 is the dry equiv. of WLP 830. I've used it extensively and like the results. I have heard inconsistent results with S-23 and have avoided it for this reason. Some love it while others say it tastes fruity and strange. Personally, I'd wash it, save it, and wait until I was drinking the one it was used in before deciding.
