I've been put off to brewing since the heat has set in. I figure I'd suck it up and get to it. Brewing my first beer since Late April. It'll be an ordinary bitter and it is just coming up to boil right now. Dang it is hot here!

Did a MLPA this morning. Freakin loving batch sparging after my second go at it. Thermopen worked great for mash temps, thanks for the heads up Ken. 5.5 gallons in the fermenator in under four hours. :frank:

I harvested some yeast from a blonde last week. Yesterday wjile looking for something to do I thought hey..I have 2- row, I have 40L, I have carapils, I have Cascades and I have yeast. So at 4:30pm I fire up the burners and popped out a pale ale. Beer was chilled, in the fermenter and I was 90% cleaned up at 9:15pm.It was a good night.

Had the St. Louis Brewers' Heritage Festival this past weekend, but still did some cellar work on Friday and Sunday. Brewing some Black Sky Stout Porter at MBC right now, gonna dry hop some Per Aspera Pilsner and HOPtimal APA in a bit, dry hopped some AIPA, filtered some Pale Ale and brewed some Pale Ale at Schlafly today, too...whew!
