Sears has an 8.8 cf chest freezer on sale. I'm thinking about getting it for refrigerated staging so my on deck kegs can stay cold. Of course they don't have a floor model for me to double check. Based 13.8 cf one I have it seems one of these should hold 4, and 6 if you put a collar on it and use the compressor hump for the 2 extra. I think the sale ends today........ anybody? Ball locks.

semi-unrelated - how much does it cost? I bought the cheapest regular sized fridge at sears and I can fit 5 kegs in it plus I have freezer space for hops and drawer space for yeast and door space for bottles.ETA: plus no controllers b/c it's designed to hold things are approximately appropriate temps (doesn't need to be exact for cold storage). I have to think the lifespan of a freezer not being used as intended won't match a fridge being used the way the designers intended.

A little under $250. I have a couple extra controllers one just came up and the other was on ebay for two really cheap. Ideally I need one that will hold 8 but 6 would do.

In the garage. A quick check with shuffling a couple empty kegs - looks like 4 fit tight - staggered. And with a collar 6. Won't know absolutely for a few weeks with my schedule but it would make a nice kegerator too - gas on the outside which my 13.8 has. Time to build another collar.
