I'm kinda ho-hum when it comes to wheats, so I'm no connoisseur, but I like Widmer.

+1. Toss in a hunk of lemon and it makes for a great good summer beer.

I had the Harpoon Crystal Wheat from the sample 12 pack and I loved it. Not sure if it had lemon infused but it sure had a nice lemony taste. Very tasty summer brew.

People love to knock Widmer, but this beer is THE definitive American Wheat. Hands down. If you don't like it, then you don't like American Wheat... time to move on. That being said, I prefer a good Wit. Murphy got it right in his suggestions, those are some seriously good beers.

What part of Michigan do you live in 'cause I'm sure you can find some brew pubs that would have kick ass wheat beers too!

I haven't had a lot but I can say that I thought Leinenkugels Summer Wheat had a very blueberry flavor...maybe I'm crazy though. Hope you find some you really like. I did try the Bud Light Wheat and was surprised. It wasn't bad at all in my opinion. :smilielol:

Personally, I think Weihenstephan wheat beers are the ones to beat.Interesting on the Schlenkerla Rauch Weizen. That one is by far my least fav. of their beers. I wont buy it again, but like all the others.

It's all I use for my wheats. I like dunkelweizen better than the more common hefeweizens.

Today there is an article on fox news discussing this subject:https://www.foxnews....ies/?test=faces

Bud Light Golden Wheat – One of the newest wheat beers on the market, it's at a disadvantage out of the gate simply by being a light beer. The wheat does improve on the low calorie formula though, providing a little more flavor, primarily citrus and wheat, with lemon hitting hard up front. It's fairly dry and is a bit less watery than light beer generally is. There's an odd sweetness to it though, with some tasters comparing it to Malibu rum. Definitely leagues better than standard Bud Light, and easier to find on store shelves than some other beers in the roundup, but only worth looking for if you have to choose between fattening up a bratwurst and a full-flavored beer and the brat wins out.

Seems lit it might actually be worth trying.

I bought a 6-pack tonight and its not the best wheat beer by a stretch but its the only light beer I think I have ever had that was worthy of a second bottle. Its not too bad.
