I sanitize my oak in the microwave. I put some water in a bowl, add water and oak, and place a smaller bowl on top of the oak to keep them underwater. Put it the microwave and bring it to a boil for a bit, leave it the microwave for 10 minutes and then run the microwave for another 2 minutes. By the time it all cools all is dead.
