Thanks for the advice everyone. I just stirred in some LME so hopefully it got mixed in well and does the trick.

You made a separate solution didn't you then added that to the fermentor?

No. The guy at the LHBS said I didn't have to with LME, but would need to do that with DME.

Heating it up will make it mix with your wort and be more soluable. Not sure how well it will mix being thick like that. It could just settle to the bottom and not ferment easily or at all. How well do you feel it mixed into solution?

I poured relatively slow while I stirred, then made sure I stirred real good along the bottom for any that might have settled. So hopefully it got mixed in well, but I don't know for sure because the Krausen was hiding it.

When the pace picks up with fermentation you will know. Id defiantly be tasting this batch and a FG before racking it.

I'd give a swirl once in a while too. If it's actively fermenting I would guess it'll dissolve pretty well.

The airlock was bubbling even before I mixed in the LME.

I understand, but since your yeast is active and going thru a growth cycle and you add more sugar, the pace will/can pick up drastically. That's all I meant....Keep us informed.

Yeah, will do. Keep in mind that even though I've brewed several batches of beer, I've never once seen an airlock bubble. I initially bought a vittles vault to ferment with and although it has an airlock on it, the lid doesn't seal airtight like it should, so the CO2 just leaks out. I'll keep an eye on the bubbles and see what happens.

It was bubbling very actively last night, and this morning the air lock's water had been replaced with krausen. I cleaned the air lock and put water back in. I just did this, and it's bubbling slower now.

Yippee! Looks like a good save. Btw, consider a blow off tube so you don't have to worry about cleaning that airlock all the time.

I am. It's already full of krausen again.

FTFY :crybaby:eta: And you are putting sanitizer in your airlock and not just water, right?
