In over a 100 AG batches I have never seen this before. This is my first 50% wheat however. It looks and feels like cooked liver, grey and spongy. There are about 6-7 chunks this size floting in my boil. I got some great hot break, and have some nice floting goldfish size hot break flakes, but I have never seen these chunks before. I heard somewhere, not sure, it's been referred to as a "Grain Booger". Not particularly scientific, but descriptive.
