I'm harvesting a WLP005 cake to streak a couple plates and was wondering which part to harvest. In my jar there are what appears to be large clumps of yeast in the bottom with all the other junk and fluffier looking yeast up higher. Should I try to get the clumpier yeast on the bottom of the jar for my culture to retain higher flocculation characteristics?Posted ImagePosted Image

No. I believe those clumps you see and the darker layer are dead yeast and particulate. The lighter colored stuff is what you want.
