Several of us kegged 55 gallons of an old ale that has been aging in a bourbon barrel for the last year. I was concerned that it had been in too long since this was the first use for the barrel but the old ale turned out just right...absolutely delicious...another great job of taking a recipe and amping it up by AlphaMale. :(

If Jeff had a hand in it I'm sure it's awesome. K and I will be in town for Schlafly's Repeal event in a few weeks.

Bottled my Berliner Weisse attempts today. Hopefully I won't get bottle bombs with 5.25 oz of table sugar.

I'm doing a Monday brewing session.Yellow Cat IPA.I was going to brew yesterday but the weather said rain on-and-off all day. It only *spit* rain for about 10 minutes.Since I'm out of disks to burn, I figure I'll brew up 10 gallons and clean out the gardens.

Shit! just dumped 15 gallons of 170 degree water all over the deck. I was talking on the phone while heating up some sparge water and the stand that the HLT and burner were on tilted over under the weight.Damn near caught the house on fire.Burned the crap out of my hand because I didn't think and grabbed the HLT to hoist it back up on another stand. Yep, damn near red hot stainless steel. :P

All's well. Just took a bit longer to reheat the sparge water is all. Couple of blisters on my hand. Got the first hops addition on the pot.

Well I had to work all weekend and had today off. After finishing my list for SWMBO this morning, I built a new immersion chiller, ran back and forth to Menards a couple times trying to get the right size pond pump to recirculate ice water thru the chiller and finally mashed in around 4:30 this afternoon. Rocked out an ESB w/ 80% eff. Transfered a EPA and racked the ESB onto the cake. Hoping for bubbles before I go to bed. Well better RDWHAHB before bed.
