That sounds work fine Browns. I use Oxyclean Versatile, can get it anywhere, Wal Mart, Target. I think the free or versatile version will do just fine to be honest.

What is better, Oxy or PBW? I've been using PBW and it seems to work pretty good. Could be better but still good. Does Oxy do a better job?

Oxyclean for day to day cleaning, PBW for tough uns.... hot water works better for both. You can make a type of your own PBW ...... using OXYclean and adding TSP from the paint section at Lowes or Home depotOxyclean also removes labels from bottles

I make my own "PBW." I have found that 3 parts of the TSP 90 (metasilicate) and 1 part oxyclean is pretty close to PBW, and much, much cheaper.

I would completely disasemble the kegs, throw all the parts in the keg and soak it in oxyclean or pbw to clean.

This right here. I also got a dedicated toilet brush I scrub to knock anything still hanging around, then rinse.

I think I read somewhere that the oxyclean to use was oxyclean Free. that right?

Doesn't matter. Just rinse well.

I am going to add this pointer to this post since its related to keg cleaning and kegerators. When a blow out here in my kegerator (4 taps) it is always a habit to take apart the keg, posts, diptube and clean with Oxy then follow that with Iodophor rinse. When the keg is filled with warm Oxy I lightly pressurize it and clean out the beverage line for that tap. What I want to add though is that going forward I am also going to include removing the tap spigot and cleaning it with a soak in oxy and rinse with tap water after that. Maybe some of you clean them often too. I didn't, it was not bad but you could tell they needed it they were starting to stick. Anyways I will be cleaning my taps with each keg blow out as well. Gotta keep that beer fresh and flavorful. Clean on!!

I don't take my faucets apart every keg. Maybe 2-3 times each year I'll disassemble the faucet and soak it along with the shank in PBW. That's just too much work for every time, and it requires a fair amount of downtime on a tap. If I have another keg ready, I'll just hook it up and push out the old beer to fill the line with the new beer. If it's going to be some time before I can hook up another beer I'll flush the lines with StarSan, though I'm going to switch to Saniclean since I think is an application where non-foaming is probably desirable.
