Not much more you can add...While the pin=short and fat and ball=tall and skinny is generally true, there are some variations even in that. I have a buddy that has ball locks that are shorter and fatter than mine, but not quite as much as a pin lock. I dont know if they were pins at one time and converted, or if they are just truly different.In any case, yea I would go with ball locks if width (not height) is the constraining factor link in a chest freezer.

I have all ball locks.MarmotAFAIK, 5 gallon cornies are all the same size (at least my 10 kegs are all the same size).Marmot
