This might not be news, but Epic Games does a weekly freebie game giveaway through the Epic Store.

Similar to Amazon's monthly free game giveaway for Prime members, but happens weekly and Epic accounts are free.  Usually 1-2 (sometimes 3) games are offered up; a mixed bag of indie and AA/AAA titles.

In early December, they did a 2-week run of daily giveaways; picked up ~15 games for free; snagged Fallout 1/2/Tactics:BoS, the full versions of Death Stranding, Saint's Row 4, Metro: Last Light (Redux), among others.

Recommended.

Similar, but I enjoy the periodic death spiral.

And to the OP, i was unaware of the epic free games. My body is ready. With GPU prices dropping, my computer may be readier soon, too.

I've picked up a bunch of these free games but I always forget. Thanks for the reminder!

A few months back, I upgraded my video card from a 2016-era 980ti to a brand new 3060ti.  Got it for a song on Amazon (they were running a crazy good sale on GPUs at the time, so I pounced).

Waiting to upgrade my motherboard/chip/ram, but for now, all of my games run much smoother, with all the deets cranked to 11.  No more GPU overheating, either.

Can't run some games (like Elden Ring) since CPU is too old, but i'm not missing out on anything.

90%+ of my gaming is on the PS4/PS5 these days. My wife likes to watch, and she can't do that as well in the computer room/office.
