Ooh. Sounds very interesting. HVB? Or is it Drez? I get confused! Anyway, sounds right up your alley.

I responded to either... A$$hole work too :)

Now back to the topic at hand. I have seen this one and really want to give it a try. I have read some reports on it and it sounds awesome.

Didn't notice it before but RiteBrew has it. They have the best prices but I usually have to play with grain weights to get optimal shipping. I hate paying shipping.

I sent an email. Haven't heard back but I kinda doubt it as I'm outside their2 day delivery zone for yeast. I'd be happy with a credit.

Update. RiteBrew did promptly send a replacement. The replacement did swell up in shipping but it didn't pop. I brewed on Monday, pitched late that night. It's been a strong fermentation. My wife commented that my beer smelled "sweet" - it has a very fruity aroma so far. I'm using a decent amount of hops but not a crazy amount (10 ounces total).

First sample of my brew with Cosmic Punch. It's good, not mind blowing. Seems like Verdant.

I like Verdant a lot. I like the ease of dry yeast too so I will not rush out for this one.

Did you do anything to try to load down your thiol concentrations? That’s where it’s supposed to really shine. They were even saying to mash hop with it lol

Can you elaborate a little here?

I actually did mash hop for the first time. I'll read up on it more before I attempt it again.

Maybe my choice of hops weren't the best for this yeast? Idaho 7 (also mash hop), Wakatu, and Nelson Sauvin. Also, not a true dry hop as all hops were added during fermentation at various stages. I'm drinking it now and it's growing on me. My wife actually likes it too. It's a very good beer, not the tropical explosion I was anticipating. In fact, I purposely didn't go high on hops to see if the yeast "boosted" the hops used.

Here’s an article to get you started. There’s a lot of research going into this stuff

So from my understanding one of the main advantages with this yeast is that you don’t need to try to load up on your thiols or precursors or whatever through fermentation dry hops. There are other ways to get those precursors into there without sacrificing your yeast to the dry hops.

Perhaps, I misunderstood but the reason I added my hops before fermentation completed is because I saw/misunderstood one of those videos. As I said, first time using an unknown yeast. I will give it another whirl when there's more info.
