I got this for Christmas, it came with the upgrade for the PS5 that's supposed to be released in March. I'll probably wait for that to get into it. Did you end up playing it, George?

Witcher is denser in terms of map population, but more scripted. You can't kill any NPC you want. Lots of cut scenes for dialogue.

More like an homage. The master blacksmith in Novigrad, Éibhear Hattori, is modeled after the master swordsmith in Kill Bill, Hattori Hanzo. Both "retired" swordsmiths who sell dumplings in their retirement and the main character has to convince them to come out of retirement to make them a weapon(s). Even the cut scene in Witcher mirrors the scene in Kill Bill when Beatrix Kiddo first meets Hanzo and he shows her his stash of never sold swords above his sushi bar but tells her she can't have them, he'll make her a special sword. In W3, Hattori shows Geralt his weapon stash above his dumpling shop then sends him on a quest to get materials for "special" weapons.
Apparently, Hattori Hanzo from Kill Bill was named after a famous Japanese samurai warrior, as well.
- His surname and role in the game are referencing Hattori Hanzō, the famous samurai in Sengoku era of Japan, as well as a former master swordsmith and sushi bar owner in the film Kill Bill Vol. 1.
