No I didn’t spell it wrong... Matter of fact I just learned about these yummy treats today.. Sauerkraut pancakes.... I’m in luv, and I’m done making placki(latke) these are easier, tastier, and since they’re made of cabbage they are “better” for you
2 cups of strained/strained sauerkraut
1 cup of flour
1 cup of milk
2 tsp each of black pepper, kosher salt, and white pepper
1 tsp ground marjoram
Ia large bowl whisk flour, milk, eggs, and spices until combined. Add sauerkraut and mix until batter comes together, and let rest for 10 minutes
Heat frying pan, griddle, etc to 350f... the original recipe calls for canola oil, but I just used PAM spray on my electric griddle.
Using a 1/3 cup scoop I ladled batter on to the griddle, and spread out evenly. I allowed to brown on each side before flipping(about 3 minutes per).
This will give you 8 large pancakes, serve with sour cream, chives, fresh crispy bacon bits, and apple sauce...
