Just opened a bag of 2-row in about 4 seconds.  4 minutes isn't unusual

I recently had that same experience on a bag of Wyermann Pils.  It was glorious.

I can never get the string to work. I don't even try anymore. Just cut the top off with scissors.

You just have to cut two eyelets in and it will pull right off.

Yea, I posted the Wyerman link a while back. It works for wyermann, the rest Pffft

 

HOWEVER, it is glorious when is removes in a few seconds and gives you faith in modern techniques.

OTOH when it takes 4 frikkin' minutes...

I just want to do serious bodily harm to the jackass who put the closure on my grain bag.
