I'm out of PBW so I may have to give Craftmeister a try.

As for cleaning the 1st time grime off this thing I reached out to Brewtech and they said the red/yellow/white box of Savogran brand TSP you can find at the hardware store works great. They said the chlorinated TSP's typically say so on the box.

I bought the 4# box of TSP as I'm going to need a bit to fill this thing!

It seems like all these cleaners prefer soft water over hard water. You can get soft water pretty cheap from various outlets. Vending machines outside (or inside) grocery stores or water stores. Bring a bucket and fill it up with the filtered water.

If you want to go all out and give the first cleaning your best shot (and you have hard water) consider getting some softened water. It may be overkill or not needed, OK. That is what I would do.
