I have moved to a keg after day 3 or 4 and put the valve on and it went to over 30PSI .  In my Chapman it will leak out at about 5psi and 15 psi for the flex.

I'm surprised the flex leaks at 15psi, I figured that thing was solid.  Thanks for all the info and letting me pick your brain. And sorry for totally derailing this thread.

Well, let me say they say it is good for up to 15 PSI.  I have made sure to keep my pressure less than that.  After spending that much I did not want to mess it up. It may be good for more.  Damn thing is like a tank but if you look at some of the others like SS Brewtech I think they are rated even lower.

Oh an no worry about the derailment.  Made the work day go faster ;)

my modified keg will hold quite a bit.  I can get the PRV to go when I'm filling it with house water supply levels of pressure.  I'm not sure what that is but more than 35 PSI anyway.

Oh, I bet that holds a lot. For my needs the 15 is enough. I bet that is on the conservative side too.

So does that black knob PRV work good?

It works decent for me. I set it with a co2 tank since the markings on it don't work well for this application.

Is there another that would work better that I could get from Amazon? I looked around but didn't see much.

Funny to wake up and see this because I had planned to come here and post about it.

I ended up kegging it Friday.  It was on the vanilla and cinnamon just about 1.5 weeks and at about 5-8 PSI that entire time.  I am happy with the beer, the base beer seems really nice and the addition of the spices did not take away from that.  The vanilla is milder than I had hopped and I think I will use more of both cinnamon and vanilla next time.

I ended up using 2 sticks in the whirlpool( I may have mashed in with 2 as well, I need to check) and  2 sticks and 2 beans in the fermenter that were soaked in a jar with bourbon.  I think I will double the sticks next time and add in 2 beans to the WP as well.  I new this beer would not hit all the boxes on the first try but I am very happy how it came out.  I will say tho, for a beer with 3#s of oats I can not tell they are in there.  I seem to have that same reaction on most beers that I use oats in.  They never give me what I am looking for.  They do not take away from the beer at all just did not give me the bigger mouthfeel that I was looking for.  Maybe when the carbonation gets to where it needs to be I will have a different opinion on them.

Sorry for the all over post!

tl/dr - Beer is very good as is but will be even better with some small tweaks.

Cool sounds like a success to me. Something to build off of for next time. At least it wasn't too much of something and unbearable to drink.

I know what you mean about the oats. I used 5#s in a 10gal batch and not sure if I really notice them. Maybe if I had a side by side comparison with a batch sans oats. But needless to say I didn't get the mouthfeel I hoped. Still a great beer.

That is why I was on the light side this batch, I did not want to have something I had to dump.  Rather start slow and build up.
