Not that I’m aware of. You shouldn’t be able to taste the iodophor tho

if there is a puddle of 25 ppm in the bottom of your keg and you don't get rid of it before filling, yes you will  <_<

Couple things: first, 25 ppm is double the concentration you need. I’ve been told you can even go lower than 12.5 ppm and still be effective. There is probably some data somewhere on it but in order to label your product a sanitizer you have to meet certain requirements. That doesn’t necessarily mean that below 12.5 it’s ineffective.
Second: don’t leave a puddle of sanitizer in your keg :P

It also doesn't mean it is effective at the lower dosage.  I'll try to remember to check with my contact.

my plan in the future is to go just a snaff over 12.5 ppm but no where near the 25 ppm I was at.

12.5 If you have questions we can't answer, I'd be happy to put you in touch with my friend at National Chemical or ask him to stop by here

I have always used a capful per 5 gallons. Is that too low? Too high? Is there a different measurement that is easy?

I would think that's about right but if anything it would be on the lower side vs the higher side.  to get 12.5ppm in 2.5 gallons you use about half of a medicine measuring cup (like the kind you get with kids medicines).  I would guess the cap is a similar size to the max line on those measuring cups.

Does iodophor or Starsan go bad? I have a large bottle of each that have been in my garage for 8 years.

AFAIK, they should both be good, but contact the companies for the most definitive answer
