Just ordered a stainless conical from spike brewing. $525. I really liked using the conicals for the 1 bbl. I was very comfortable with them and my ferm chamber has a clear door so I can avoid like struck issues. And now I can do spunding to try Ken's low O2 carbonating process and still clean things more easily than a keg after.

I know, I know, I know, I'm just trying to justify it... the fact is I wanted it.

Lol... I was looking at spike and Stout just the other day. Maybe the third time will be the charm for me. Not sure if I will get one or just a bright tank.

Please post pictures once you get it.

What made you choose this over other options?

Isn't it, though?  That mantra didn't account for being asked to beta test.  Back then, I couldn't imagine that would ever happen.

They asked Drew and me to be beta testers

I assume with Craftmeister, like everything else.  We'll see after it arrives.

I just meant how do you rinse it out and stuff?  with a kettle I can muscle it around the sink, bang it on things, etc. and not worry about breaking anything.

Ah, I'll fill it with hot Craftmeister solution and pump it around

and then when you rinse you just use a hose and pump it to a drain somewhere?

Well, that makes the decision a lot easier.

yep.  When I remodelled my garage into a brewery, I put in a center floor drain with a slight slope down to it.  I won't even need to pump it out.  I should just be able to open the valve on the bottom of the fermenter and let it drain.

AFAIC, it's my favorite brewing "equipment"!  Makes things so easy.
