I'm thinking hard about picking one up this week when the sale goes on Wednesday.

I wonder what we'd get for $99? just the basic cone and one valve, without a stand?

I really like my kegmentor (half barrel keg with a larger hole cut in the top for a lid). it allows me ferment under pressure, naturally carbonate and transfer with no O2 exposure. one of the main things is it fits in my chest freezer and has corny QDs on it.

Do you ferment under pressure?
I've been jumping the gas port on the fermentor to my corny kegs like this: fermentor gas post -> corny1 liquid post, corny1 gas post -> corny2 liquid post, corny2 gas post -> vent. after I've let things flow free for a few days I put the spunding valve on the corny2 gas post and build up about 5 PSI of pressure in the whole system. then I disconnect all of the jumpers and put the spunding valve right on my primary. I'll slowly crank up the pressure as I raise the temperature towards the end of fermentation. using this method I can get an ale drinkable in a week and lager in about 1.5 weeks.

The one in the sale banner looks like this one, the old Stout conical style.

that's phenomenal for $99

Ok, that is the same as what I do. I was under the impression that fermenting under pressure was from day one at 10+psi. I know commercial it is done with some lagers. I did not know if that is what you were doing.
yeah - I haven't tried fermenting under pressure the entire time yet.

Damn....will the "short style" be included? Anyone know the height of the regular 7.3 gal?

I'll say this though, the fermentor comes with ball valves and you want to use butterfly valves. The ball valves will harbor old beer and wort and will contaminate future batches. The butterfly valves can be broken down and sanitized properly.

Shipping would have been 83 to me anyway so even at $99 I do not think I would have pulled the trigger.
