Cheers my friend and thank you again. Can I assume that these are beers that I would ordinarily have no access to? They're all MA beers, right?

Jack's sees some distro but not sure how far. Treehouse is brewery only and lines! Everything else is avaliable in stores here.

Okay, now for the blonde ale from Tree House.  The label says that the beer is brewed with "an individual hop variety that is printed with the BEST date on the can"... which suggests that they make this beer with different hops based on what's available.  The description goes on to say that "every iteration is juicy, soft, fruity, etc".  I checked the date on the can and [as I would've expected], it said CITRA.  This beer is very soft, fruity, smooth and juicy.  It's almost like having a smoothie or something.  I would guess that other iterations might include Galaxy, maybe Amarillo, Mosaic and some others.  It's very cloudy but it was very cold and I just got back from a 15-mile bike and I found myself chugging it.  It's only 4.2% and there is no harshness of any kind.  Very interesting.

Last beer... Julius by Tree House.  Very similar to the blonde in that it's very smooth despite all the hops in the beer.  I could not find anything telling me which hops are in it but Citra is present for sure.  Cloudy, orange-colored, juicy hop flavors but no real bitterness which gives you the impression you should chug it.  :D  The head on this beer is insane (pic below).  The last pour from the can was almost sludgy with yeast and turned the beer in the glass from orange to a more TAN color.  6.8% on this one and BA rates this beer as "WORLD CLASS" and I understand why.  I think I could fall under the spell of these beers but the 4.2% blonde might be more my speed than the 6.8% Julius although both were very good.  My wife is into beers with Amarillo and/or Citra and I asked her to taste it... "Oh, that's really good".

Thanks again Drez.  You didn't have to send me beer... but I'm glad you did.  :D

just had a eureka the other day.  great beer

so what do you think of the extreme hop flavor/aroma without much bitterness?  it's something I enjoy for sure.  the cloudy aspect might be part of the TH flavor but in general high hop flavor/aroma without bitterness can be had with clear beer too.

The versions I can remember are Citra ( #1 versions brewed), Mosaic, Galaxy and Nelson.

TH is very tight lipped on what hops or blends of hops are in their beers.  Julius does indeed have Citra and at one time was much more citra based and a lot darker like it was using MO for a base.  People go crazy for it but truthfully it is not even in the top 5 beers from TH for me.

Glad you enjoyed the "Taste of Massachusetts!"

I figured I would start with the less-hoppy beers and work my way up.  I had no idea what to expect from the Blonde and Julius.  What was amazing to me is that I'm sitting outside and there is a nice breeze... I pop the top on the blonde and immediately the entire yard is filled with the smell of hops.  It was unreal. My nose must have been 2 feet away from the can.  Same with the Julius... instant storm of hops swirling around the backyard.  There was something very different about those beers... very soft, fluffy, smooth, juicy... like I just made a blended juice drink or something.  The fact that it's cloudy just adds to that.  I'm glad I had the chance to try them.  Cheers and thanks again.

Beer number 3... The Hera Pils. This is a Czech style lager with Saaz hops and very nice. The can shows 5.7% so it's a bit higher than the others up to this point. A very nice beer.

Maybe the best thing about the Fort Hill beers is that they are consistently the cheapest beer around. $7.99/sixer when they have it at my local. Awesome value. Their rauchbier is my favorite.
