Brewed this one yesterday:

10 lb Avangard pils

3 lb Weyermann Munich 2

0.5 lb wheat

0.5 lb C-60

1.5 oz Carafa-3

1 oz Magnum (whole), for 90 min boil

1 oz Mt. Hood (whole), for 5 min boil

34/70 will handle the heavy lifting in the primary.

Beersmith says this one will weigh in ~1.076 (~8% abv) and ~35 IBUs, with an SRM in the 14-16 range.  Color was a nice garnet-reddish-brown.

Will know around late September how this one turned out.

I was chatting with a buddy earlier on the notions of making a doppel bock. Timing :) I thought of adding a small amount of chocolate along with the carafa
