I'm thinking about adding a commercial brew to my tap lineup, but I don't want to take up too much space in my keezer. The 1/6 bbls are just about the size of a corney. Does anyone have an idea of which commercial breweries are kegging 1/6 bbls?

It has been a few years, but I've seen New Belgium beer in 1/6 bbls. I'm also pretty sure Boulevard has 1/6 bbls kegs, at least they used to. Those two may not be helpful in MA though...

I used to get Shipyard Export in the 1/6 Bbl. I think what i learned is that a lot of breweries use the 1/6 but not all their beers will be put in them.

I'll find out when i give them a call about the Smuttynose. Any guesses? I say $160.It would probably take me a year to drink it, if not more.

Who are you calling? I hope you are getting this beer from NH b/c I'm guessing it's cheaper up here.edit: I guess you are getting it form Julios - I assume that's someplace local for you?

Kinda local. It's like a 1/2 hr., but it's the best liquor store in the area. There's a Kappy's in Fitchburg that's pretty good, I'll probably check there, too.

you should check if there is anything around the areas of NH that you frequent just for comparisons sake.

Where do you buy your beer? You should be able to ask them what they can order for you. My local brewing can sell direct. My local beer distributor can get thinks like Brooklyn real easy. Others from outside of NY are possible but normally take a couple days to order.

I forgot to mention to check the price before you spend too much time on this. The 1/6 kegs and much more than 1/3 the price of a 1/2 barrel. Last time I checked it was like $50 for the 1/6 and $120 for the 1/2. If you have a couple kegs you may want to just get 1/2 barrel and tranfer into 3 kegs.Basser posted and can probably chime in on current prices for an example.

meh, it's not a big enough price difference for me to go through the trouble of splitting up a 1/2 bbl and taking up 3 cornies, plus it'll take me forever to go through a 1/2 bbl. I'd rather be able to switch it up semi-frequently.
