Pears in the mash?

You may want to investigate if any of the chemicals in pears could have an adverse effect to your mash. Why not add them to the end of the boil or to secondary?Something seems wrong with this. But you put pumpkin in there, right? Should I try it?

Yeah, it might work, but we're brewing soon, and I don't want to have to research anything right now. Seems like in my mind it would be a waste of perfectly good pears to not treat them more gently.I'm not saying pears in the mash wouldn't work - I just don't know.
