I have some 1056 that I've been using for the past year by saving part of every starter I make with it for the next starter (so no washing). I think I've used it for 8 batches now and while I haven't had the last batch I made with it yet the AIPA I made with it before that came out great. Perhaps the yeast characteristics are changing but certainly not in a bad way. I'm thinking I'll stop at 10 reuses and get a new pack from the LHBS.
