Hey Fellas, I'm entered in an upcoming SMASH with my club. Vienna is the malt to ~ 1.050 with 05, 001 or 1056 as the yeast. Having used it in a few pale ales recently, I chose Mandarina Bavaria as my hop. To me it's very smooth and has a nice compliment of melon and tangerine on the back end. To get to 1.050 I'll use 11# of Briess Vienna. Looking for a nice hop schedule from you. I'd like to be around 35 IBU's with the majority of the hops being input at DH2, DH1, 0, 5 and 10 plus the 60 minute charge. Any advice on this is truly appreciated.

Dude GTFO of my head. Since the vienna malt thread I started a few weeks back I have been envisioning a SMaSH lager with Vienna to 1.052 with a few ounces of late Mandarina and 34/70. CWG is a fan of SMaSH lagers would be curious to see if he has done something like this. I have not used Madarina so I cannot advise on quantities, timing, or exact flavors to expect from it.

Mandarina is a pretty pleasant hop imho. I have a pale ale going right now that I just love because of the melon and citrus. I bittered with Magnum and purposely did not go over the top with either as I am pulling away from huge hop presence and/or bitter. I can see the Mandarina's bouncing off Vienna real nice.
I'll be curious to what CWG says too. I'm digging the SMASH as of late.
