My experience (and unrefined palate) picks up citrus, citrus, and more citrus. I love em! SNPA, one of my favorite commercial beers, uses lots of late cascade hops additions.I ended up having to come home early this morning from work since my daughter was sick. Wife went to work so since daughter was doing fine I decided to brew a batch. I brewed an easy Pale Ale SG was 1.056, 28 IBU. I finally decided to break open the 1 lb bag of 2008 Cascade and toss them in for some flavor and aroma. I used 2.5oz total in the final 10 minutes. I am just curious anyone use these and wanna share some flavor profiles or notes. Just curious what sorta flavors to expect or see. While the gravity sample taste fine, its just sweet with sugar to say the least. Appreciate!!

I like Cascades a great deal and have brewed with them a good bit. This is just first time I am brewing with Cascade from HopsDirect. I was just curious if any certain flavors were coming through. I have had SNPA plenty of times and of course its great too. I understand the basic and expected flavors of Cascade this was more a specific crop question. Its all good thanks for the responses.I'm slightly surprised this question is being asked. Not that it is a stupid question, certainly it isn't. I just expected everyone to know what Cascades were like. Are you asking about Cascade in general or the specific crop? If you mean Cascade in general, buy a sixer of SNPA. But yes, citrusy, and indeed yummy. Probably my favorite hop.
