First off everyone is really helpful and friendly around here. I think that's pretty evident. Supportive - check out the love Jimvy is getting. Knowledgable - we've got some smart mofos posting and a good percentage of the people in the forum have a lot of experience (even some pros). To top it off we have some really generous folks around here: in the past year I've received a life times supply of carapils and two digital scales all for free (you guys know who you are). I find it pretty incredible. That is all.

yea... the guys here have vastly improved my ways of brewing!and now that im back on a brewing kick after a 6 month hiatus i already have enough malt for 5-6 brews this winter.

there is no way I'd be 1/2 the brewer I am now without the peeps around here and the old board (regardless of which board we are talking about). A large percentage of the quality posters made it over here which is good - there are still a few I miss though...

Great Post Zym and so true. I really have to say I really enjoy the topics and the helpful and great people that make this board really popular and a fabulous resource. I think I post a fair amount of the time and try to add helpful advice but the topics, experience and know how here is great. Everyone should give themselves a pat on the back. I love to share any knowledge that I have and if someone can benefit and enjoy homebrewing even more I am all for it.

Uh oh. Better get my affairs in order. Yup, this board and esp the other place really got me back to speed when I started brewing again. Lots of good advice saved me lots of aggravation and a lot shorter learning curve. Still have a long ways to go though.

I can echo everyone's comments and couldn't agree more, a great and friendly community first, and a tremendous commodity second. There is a woman in my BJCP study group who has only done 1 AG batch, and that was at a group brewday, she loves beer though and wants to be in the BJCP and pass the test this fall. She was really afraid her lack of brew experience was going to keep her education stunted to only a certain level. I told her to log on here- and just read. Pull up an interesting looking thread or a "please help" thread, and read. Even without contributing, your knowledge from this site will grow exponentially.

I guess I should say the lifetime of the grain - I'm not sure I'll be able to use it all before it goes stale

I agree. I probably log on here between 30 and 100 times a week! Although I don't contribute too much, I know just reading responses is great for my brew knowledge.Cheers to Everyone!
