The best one I had was a cheap plastic one I got with my very first homebrew kit. I don't even rememebr where I ordered it from, but it might have been midwest. I used it for years and never had a leak or any other problem. Alas, it broke when I ran it over with my car. The one I replaced it with was another plastic one, that I don't like nearly as much. It has a slightly different valve/spring set up on it. I still have the second one, but don't bottle much anymore.

Dont get me started on the BG! That little black thing....Anyways, I like my BG. I use to bottle and to sanitize bottles. It acts like one of those push sprayers on bottle trees only better. The BG gets a little bit used too, but in the end I like it. I just have a love/hate relationship with the black thing.

For me, the BG has been one of the best "gadget" investments ever. I still have not had any problems with the little black gizmo. *crosses fingers*

I just use the plastic bottle spring load filler at the end of the siphon hose .... takes awhile. Got the kids to run the capper!

I use one of the Fermtech (I believe) fillers that just has the loose valve in the bottom. Yeah, it leaks some, but it is cheap and I kind of figured that is par for the course. The thing I like about it is that you can shove it inside a picnic tap and bottle from a keg (turn down the pressure of course). But I use picnic taps so in my case it makes it really easy.

I went through a couple of the plastic spring loaded deals. They kept getting stuck open and leaking at the nozzle. At that point I went to kegging and got a Beer Gun after that.

+1 on the beergun. I bottled for 9 years from extract brewing and got into kegging last year. If you keg you gotta go with the BG it is worth every penny of the $70 whether you bottle a few per batch or the whole batch. You can't beat consistant carbonation.

Oh, my plastic one leaks a little bit, but I have one bottle (the last one I fill) that sits on the side for me to put it in as a holding place. Anything that drips ends up in that bottle, anyway.
