I'd say the hops actually are about right.  I think anyone interested in this style should try this recipe or use it as a jumping off point.

so this beer was "off the taps" for a while b/c I only have so many faucets.  today a keg kicked so this one went back on and oh man is it good.  like it made me want to instantly make more.  really top notch.

That's funny. I am thinking of making something pils-ish here in the next few weeks and was thinking about this beer and how it came out for you. Good to know.

it's not quite as bitter as a pils.  has more of a soft feel to it but still nice and clean and crisp.

Would you add a few more BUs to it? Has the bitterness just faded with time?

it probably has a little but I like it the way it is.  adding a little bit more if that's what you are looking for wouldn't be bad either.  I'd probably like it either way.  I guess one thing to keep in mind is that my hallertau was a little aged so if you have some that's pretty fresh the amounts I have might add some more ibus and flavor/aroma.
