For those that want to trade some hops...but don't own any, check out my hops group buy thread (group buy forum). I'm trying to get enough people to go in on a few 11# bags from North Country Malt that I can split and ship. The cost is low to mid-$20s per pound shipped.

The group buy is dead, but the good news is that Hops Direct has some pretty good prices right now. Looks like we're starting to get back on track with pre-shortage prices.

Is hop trading a thing of the past?

When you can get a pound for $10-$15, it becomes harder to justify going through the trouble of trading. If you buy a pound and don't use them all, no big whoop. When it's $50/lb it's a whole different story.

So which is it?

Let me rephrase the question. Is hop trading a thing of the past?

I know. It's kind of disappointing, but I think people are going crazy over the great retail prices and they're stocking up.
