I picked, dried and packed this years crop and posted a question here a few weeks ago about what I can do to encourage a second harvest.Following the advise of JReigle I fertilized heavily and added some compost rich in coffee grounds.I am happy to report that I have a huge growth spurt. In many cases, rather than adding new bines, it has caused new growth to happen on the existing bines. I have about 100 flowers currently with more coming by the day. Thanks JReigle !Cheers,MILF Man

I've got a huge 2nd harvest of hops I plan to pick tomorrow if the rain holds off.

My 1st chinook harvest was 10.5oz dry back in July, from three crowns. Just looking at whats on the bines that grew all back up and fruited again I'm guessing there's another 6-8oz. to be picked.I'm also going to dig up my 3 unhappy fuggles after the chinook get picked and transplant some chinook cuttings into their places. The fuggle are getting donated to a guy at work.

I just finished cutting everything down and picking the Chinook. I have about 4/5 of a 5 gallon bucket of cones. maybe I diddn't notice at the first harvest, but these chinook cones are square in cross section, they literally have 4 flat sides, it's wierd. Oone bine had some particularly huge cones on it, some were 3" long.I forgot how much of a PITA it is to get this resin off my hand and arms.
