Hey navy guys, anyone worked their way through the NEETS modules? I'm working on some self improvement this year and was suggested it as a great/free learning tool. I have a few long term projects I'd like to complete in the next year or so and I thought this would give me a good start. Thoughts? NEETS for those unfamiliar.

Nope.  I read the title to that link and like 5 words and it was already enough to make my brain go: Nope!

You think it's a good learning source? I'm working through the first module and I realize that I'll have to self test which isn't a big deal. I mostly want to learn the basics for a few projects I'm working on, specifically: building a tube amp in the next year or two and then building an entire sound system within the next 5 years. And when I say build I don't mean piecing together the components. I mean build the amps, active crossover networks/filters, speaker enclosures etc.

You talking about designing them?

No. I want to learn how to read schematics, mod circuits and learn more about electronics in general. I don't think I could ever design stuff. Thankfully there are plenty of plans out there.

Yeah, they should do that for you.
