Carahell?  I picked up 3 pounds of it when I was at Northern Brewer, I'm not sure why but I did.  Do I use it like I would Caravienna? I really like caravienna.  What about a APA with 5% Carahell vs my normal 5-10% C60?  Would it keep it lighter?  Does it taste more like Caramunich vs Crystal/Carmel Malts?

Any experience you'd like to share?

It's like a 20L crystal...at least the stuff I've used has been.  Works great in a maibock.

Per NB:  11° L. Imparts a full, round malt flavor and gold color. Very versatile - use up to 15% in pale ale, Oktoberfest, Maibock, and hefeweizen. When I first saw it, I thought it's purpose was for Helles because it's meant to be a solid, malty-tasting beer with a dry finish and I do use a bit in my Helles. That "full, round malt flavor" part is what you should pay attention to... wherever you want that character, go for it. I don't think I have used more than about 4 ounces in 5 gallons so 3 pounds is a lot but it'll keep. Whatcha gonna do with all that CaraHell!? :P

Carahell: that special place homebrewers go to when they use too much C-60.

Don't be a hater!  I'm sure I am that guy.  I love my C60.

Do you think you could pick it out from other light crystal malts in the 8-15L range?

Yeah, I was misremembering.

I kinda doubt it.  I've used C10 when I couldn't get carahell.
