Is this is a seasonal? If so, is this the right time to release a Berliner? I thought it was meant to be a spring/summer beer. I remember reading something a long time ago about Berliner Weiss and how people of all ages would "sit by the lake and drink Berliner Weiss through a wide straw with a dash of raspberry or woodruff syrup" making it sound like a warm weather beer. As far as I can tell, New Glarus can do no wrong.

No it was a summer release. I bought and drank several 4 packs last summer and stuffed a couple bottles in the cellar for "later" consumption. That "later" is now along with a brined and smoked pork chop.

Did the beer change in that time?

Just a little as far as my memory serves me. The acidity seems just a touch softer but I may be splitting hairs. Otherwise still very enjoyable beer.

This would be an American Amber.... brewed with Medium and Extra Dark British Crystal (C55 and C165).  I like the nice reddish hue.

it actually almost looks like a distortion issue b/c the bottom of the glass looks level but then the top kind of curves away to the left.  maybe it's just the perspective.  I thought it was quite artistic.

Tonight I am drinking the last pint of a Black IPA I made. Credit to ChicagoWaterGuy as it is his grist from this recipe https://www.brews-br...-ipa/?p=1860913 I'll use this grist again and maybe with even less finely ground MW as it is black as night. Probably try 10oz. next time.

Anyways it was CWG's grist with a big dose of Columbus, Cascade and Centennial in the whirlpool and dry hopped twice with the same varieties. Fermented with US-05 (which did not strip out the hop flavor and aroma like some other damn dry yeast I know of!) Turned out phenomenal.

At some point in my brewing I was having the hardest time getting pale beers clear. Not sure if it's better pH control or what but here is a helles I have on tap right now... looks filtered.Posted Image
